A big kitchen knife and a metal spatula sliding along various other metal objects in the kitchen. Good for foley use, but could also serve as horror fx with some processing. Recorded with an olympus ls-5.

A ring of keys picked up and dropped repeatedly from a height of 6" or so into a tub of coins. Assorted metal-against-metal sounds when picked up, short metallic crashes when dropped. Some minor removal of background noise. Recorded with minidisc and condenser mic, close, indoors.

Four quiet clangs, recording in a brick stairwell. I hit the metal railing of the staircase and let the sound ring. Sounds kind of eerie and distant, like something you'd hear in a factory or maybe on a big iron ship or submarine. Recorded with a zoom h4n.
Someone uses a bunch of keys to open a padlock that keeps a metal gate closed in the countryside. Once opened, the lock squeaks and is closed again. Recorded with sony pcm-d50.
Paper sounds & metal container sounds - thicker art paper scrolled and unscrolled, also placed inside of and withdrawn from a metal water bottle to simulate some sort of special scroll, including fiddling with the metal lid. Occasional soft breath soz but mostly clean. Recorded on a r0de nt-1, through a ai-1 in my booth. Raw unedited audio.

Bought a piece of 12"x24"x22awg copper sheet metal last week and was fascinated by the warble noises it made when i picked it up out of the box. A heavy goods-train enters an empty station and breaks. Another train is pushed around a bit. You hear the creaking of the metal, the breaks squeeking and general metal-on-metal mayhem. Some background noise from cars and some birds tweeting in the background. Recorded using a sony pcm-d50.
I made this recording by using a metal shovel and ramming it into the icy snow. The snow has been around for a couple months now and has been rained on and turned to tiny ice crystals. It sounds like it could be sand, grainy dirt or rock dust.
